A typical CEREC crown appointment takes about 2 hours. This includes the preparation of the tooth, the digital design time, the milling of the crown (while you relax), and the final placement.
Yes. The ceramic materials we use are extremely durable and esthetic. Because there is no temporary crown involved, there is less risk of bacterial leakage or sensitivity between visits.
Not always. A crown is used to cover and protect a damaged tooth. If the nerve is unaffected, a root canal is not necessary. Dr. Maroon or Dr. Abbott will evaluate your specific situation.
We use local anesthesia to ensure the area is completely numb. If you are anxious, we also offer Nitrous Oxide and oral sedation options to keep you relaxed.
With proper care (brushing, flossing, and regular checkups), a CEREC crown can last 10 to 15 years or longer.
